Barbering/Hair Styling

This program, consisting of a minimum of 1500 clock hours (which may equal forty-three (43) weeks of full-time training), is designed to prepare a student who graduates to enter the field as a licensed Barber Stylist.

History of Barbering and Scientific Fundamentals
Professional Ethics, Hygiene, Grooming and First Aid
Study of the hair, skin, scalp and structure of the head
Elementary chemistry relating to sanitation, sterilization and bacteriology
Economics on Shop Management
Electricity as Applied to Barbering

1000 Hrs. Practical Work

Shaving, facials, massage and packs
Honing and stropping
Men’s and Women's Haircutting
Permanent Waving
Hair Tinting - Temporary, Semi-permanent and Permanent

150 Hrs. Shop Management

Business training and laws relating to the Kansas State Board of Barber Examiners
